She saw in him what no one else could see.
He found in her what he could never find.

An Act of Redemption by KC Lynn is the story of Anna and Logan. If you are familiar with KC’s Men of Honor series, Anna is remembered as one of the sexually trafficked victims rescued by Jaxson Reid and his SEAL teammates, Sawyer Evans and Cade Walker. The violation that Anna endures is enough to break your heart and make you wonder why such evil exists in the world. The only good thing to come from that experience is she inherited three brothers for life that would do anything for her and it gives her a level of safety that she needs to help heal.
Upon returning home to the US, Anna has to learn to cope with living as a survivor while not letting her past take over her life. Though she is at a young age, by this time 15, she meets and falls in love with Logan Knight. I loved Logan almost from the beginning…he was such a mini-me of Jaxson. I could tell that even though he was young as well, Anna was it for him. It was plain to see that Logan did not have an easy home life and just as Anna found solace in him, he did in her as well. I wanted the two of them to have an easy courtship, get married, and have that HEA they both richly deserved.
But sometimes we don’t always get what we hope for…or if we do, it’s not the way we thought it would be.
Now that I’ve given you some background (just in case you haven’t read the Men of Honor series), my actual review of the book starts here. An Act of Redemption picks up at Logan taking Anna to her prom. I was so happy to see the two of them still together. And Logan is just as attentive and protective as ever. I completely fell in love with him that night when he gave something back to Anna that had been stolen from her back in that hellhole in Iraq. Call me sappy, but I cried. I’m sure you can figure out what I’m talking about, but I will let you read it for yourself.
Unfortunately that magical night turns into a disaster of epic proportions for them both, but especially for Logan. He is put into a terrible situation that causes him to make a life-altering decision in order to protect his sister. I knew what was coming and it just killed me. Because of this, Logan and Anna are forced to spend a great deal of time apart at his insistence and I have to say that I really thought this was the end for them. If you are familiar with Fighting Temptation and the part where Jaxson sends Julia away so she doesn’t see his injuries; that is nothing compared with what happens with Logan and Anna.
I don’t want to go into any more of the plot of the story because then there would be no reason for you to buy the book. But, just know, that these two have a long road ahead of them trying to learn to trust each other, get to know them as adults, and incorporate each other into the lives they now have 4 years later. It is no easy feat, but the love that Anna and Logan have for each other as well as Logan’s determination made it apparent that they would somehow get their HEA. All those years ago, he might have saved her, but she became his redemption. I’m paraphrasing from the book, but that sentence alone is the essence of this book as well as their relationship in a nutshell.
I’m definitely a crier and I cried through most of the book. But in addition to the tears, I was happy to see my MOH guys again and all of their families. It was almost like a big family reunion! And for those of you familiar with Sawyer (he’s my favoriteJ), he hasn’t changed a bit! In fact, he has his own mini-me that kept me in stitches from laughing whenever they were in the picture.
It is no secret that I am a huge KC Lynn fan. I thought she wrote literary gold with her Men of Honor series and her standalone, Beautifully Insightful, but I think this is her best yet. Her storyline was original and her characters so complex. Just as with her other books, I felt like I knew these people and that’s what I love about her writing the most…the family feel that you get when reading it.
Finally, KC outdid herself with the steam factor! Logan is HOT, hot and more hot! And if you thought the other three were masters of dirty talk, this guy is the king…All hail King Logan lol ;). Still, even with the dirty talk, his love for Anna was almost tangible…you can’t ask for much better than that!
I give An Act of Redemption as well as KC Lynn 5 stars. She is the queen of writing difficult subjects with grace and style. I will always be a fan of her writing and recommend it to anyone I meet that hasn’t heard of her or read her books. I’m already looking forward to her next work because as usual, it will be fabulous! If you are looking for a hot steamy, but loving read with no cliffhanger and a fabulous HEA, look no further…this book is the one for you!

Emily Michaels ~ Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong? Like you never fit in, or you weren’t good enough? This is how I have felt for as long as I can remember. I see the world differently than everyone else, I feel everything differently and I reflect on life differently. And being different in my world is not a good thing. I live in a place that’s divided between the rich and the poor, the beautiful and the unbeautiful, the prestigious and the mediocre. I have always belonged in the first category, because my father was the Governor of Georgia.
Growing up around people I could never relate with, my life had always been lonely, that was until my senior year when I met the one boy who would change my life forever. A boy who my parents would never approve of because he didn’t come from money or the same social class. He rode a motorcycle, had tattoos and was considered to be from the wrong side of the tracks. Yet he was still envied by many.
Ryder Jameson was someone who every guy feared, and one who every girl wanted to be touched by. He didn’t do attachments, or have friends… until me. And for the first time in my life I finally felt like I belonged. When I was with him, my different didn’t feel wrong or ugly. He made me feel beautiful- insightfully beautiful. Then one day my world came crashing down on me, and it would be six years before I’d once again see the boy I fell in love with.
Ryder Jameson ~ After working my ass off I am given the opportunity of a lifetime, and if I pull it off I will be the youngest FBI agent to run one of the biggest undercover operations in history. Only the case that gets thrown in front of me leads me back to the one place I swore I would never return to, and to the only girl who’s ever mattered to me.
Except Emily Michaels is not the same girl I left behind. She still looks the same, she’s still beautiful inside and out, but there’s one thing that’s very different about her, one very big thing, and it’s something I didn’t think was possible.
Ryder and I come from a world where politics separates us and wealth defines us, but even after all this time we will not let it divide us. Here is our story.
This is a standalone novel with an HEA and is told in dual POV. Due to mature subject mature, such a explicit sexual situations and coarse language, this story is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.
