Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan

Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan is now live!

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Callihan comes a charming, emotional romance about redefining dreams and discovering unlikely love along the way.

Life for Emma isn’t good. The world knows her as Princess Anya on Dark Castle, but then her character gets the axe–literally. The cherry on top is finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman. She needs a break, and sanctuary comes in the form of Rosemont, a gorgeous estate in California promising rest and relaxation.

Then she meets the owner’s equally gorgeous grandson, ex-hockey player and current recluse Lucian Osmond, and she sees her own pain and yearning reflected in his eyes.

He’s charming when he wants to be but also secretive and gruff, with protective walls as thick as Emma’s own. Despite a growing attraction, they avoid each other.

But then there’s an impromptu nighttime skinny-dip, and Lucian’s luscious homemade tarts and cream cakes start arriving at Emma’s door, tempting her to taste life again…

In trying to stay apart, they only grow closer–and their broken pieces just might fit together and make them whole.

5 Star Review by Melody’s Love 4 Books

Make it Sweet is the story of Lucian and Emma, two people trying to recover from disastrous events in their personal lives. Lucian is a former hockey player whose hockey career ended due to a devastating leg injury. Trying to come to terms with how his life has turned out, he goes to live at Rosemont, his grandmother’s estate, and buries himself in making the amazing desserts he learned from his great grandfather, a famous French pastry chef. Emma is a well-known actress playing a character called Princess Anya on Dark Castle, similar to Game of Thrones. Suddenly, her character is killed off, and she is bound to secrecy due to the finale being six months away. If that isn’t bad enough, she goes home to find her boyfriend in bed with another woman. Needing a place to hide away, her grandmother recommends she go to Rosemont and find out who she is without the show.

Lucien and Emma were drawn to each other right away. Two broken people searching for something and finding it with each other, although they had to get out of their own way, especially Lucien. He thinks he’s not good enough for her, but with Emma’s sweet and sassy vibe, he finally realizes what’s between them. What I thought was so original is how Ms. Callihan integrated the use of decadent desserts into their love story. Talk about a love language!

I was so enthralled with whether or not Lucien and Emma were going to make it work. Would they follow their hearts? I felt every one of their emotions and felt like I was on their journey with them. It was funny and sweet, hot, loving, yet painful as I waited with bated breath to see how it was going to turn out.

This is my first book by Ms. Callihan, but it won’t be my last. I can’t wait to read more of her work. I give 5 stars to Make It Sweet and highly recommend it to everyone. Especially if you love romance and you’re a foodie, making it the perfect book.

Don’t Kiss the Bride by Carian Cole

Don’t Kiss the Bride by Carian Cole is now live!

I guess you could say I was a damsel in distress, and he was my knight in shining armor.

But more accurately, I was a girl with a lot of bad luck, and he was a guy with a lot of muscles and tattoos.

Jude “Lucky” Lucketti wasn’t just a sexy, brooding construction worker. He was my own personal hero who seemed to be in all the right places at the right times. Like when my car broke down and I needed a ride home, and when I face planted on the sidewalk right in front of him and had to be taken to the emergency room.

Those weren’t exactly my best moments, but they were his.

We became friends, and it didn’t matter that he was sixteen years older than me. We had a lot in common—like our love of old rock music and vintage fast cars, and our aversion to relationships.

When he approached me with a crazy idea to help me out, I couldn’t say no.

The arrangement was supposed to be temporary. A marriage on paper and nothing else.

It should’ve been easy, but it wasn’t.

Because here I am, eighteen years-old, still in high school, and married to a man I was never supposed to fall in love with.

We had just one rule—no kissing the bride.

But we broke that rule, and it sealed our fate forever.

Review: 5+ stars

A Carian Cole age-gap novel? Yes, please! I couldn’t wait to start reading this book. The cover is gorgeous and I knew the story would be amazing. A few pages in and I could already tell I wasn’t going to be disappointed.

Jude and Skylar aka Lucky and Sparkles are the perfectly imperfect couple who fit together…well, perfectly. From the moment they met when Skylar’s car broke down, it’s clear they’re meant to be together, but can they make it work? They had a lot going against them from people in their town not understanding their relationship to their damaged pasts causing doubts in their romance. Sometimes I felt like the latter was the biggest hill they had to climb as they had to navigate the abandonment and trust issues on both their parts.

I felt Ms. Cole did a fabulous job writing this book. She dealt with the age gap in a way that even those who don’t like this trope will love the story. Although Skylar is much younger than Jude, she went through so much in her life, she came across as older, IMO. And Jude was so sweet, all I could think was “he can be my knight in shining armor any day!”

Their story was complex in the best way and I loved the slow burn between them. It made their romance seem real, if that makes sense. In addition, Jude and Skylar’s characters were multi-layered. I felt more like I was peeking in on their lives rather than reading a book.

I give Don’t Kiss the Bride 5+ stars and highly recommend it to everyone. Congratulations on an amazing novel, Carian Cole!

5 Stars!

Review link: Braxton and Tala=what an ending! (amazon.com)

Wow!! What a fabulous conclusion to a series. Braxton and Tala were so worth the wait. I was drawn to them immediately. Their chemistry was amazing and they were so in sync both as friends and lovers. At the same time, my heart went out to both of them as they both had baggage holding them back from each other. I wondered who was going to break first and reveal their feelings.

The suspense in this story had me on the edge of my seat! Between worrying about Tala’s leg and foot, whether they were going to freeze to death, or get shot by an unknown bad guy, I couldn’t put my Kindle down. I read way into the night.

As always, Lethal Protector is an extremely well-written book. Kaylea Cross blows my mind with each new story. Her use of complex character arcs, emotion-filled dialogue, and love scenes that melt your reading device make her one of my very favorite authors. I give Lethal Protector 5+ stars and highly recommend it to everyone, especially those who love to read about hot alpha military guys who worship and protect kicka$$ women. Congratulations, Kaylea Cross! Looking forward to the next masterpiece.

My Review

4.5 Stars!!

Tempted’s blurb attracted my attention due to the h being a recovering addict. I’ve never read this storyline before and was eager to dive right in. Bailey turned to drugs due to the loss of her best friend and father as well as not having a good relationship with her mother. She’s now two years sober and her financial situation is not good. About to be convicted, she takes her sister’s fiance up on a waitressing job at a high end club in NYC.

In my opinion, her new job is scary as it’s not the place for an addict. There’s temptation all around. Who knew her biggest temptation would be Drew, the club owner, rather than a substance. In return, Drew has his own issues, maybe even more deep-seated than hers.

What I liked most about this story is the realness of Bailey’s character. I know firsthand of loving a family member with addiction problems and watching them struggle day-to-day is hard. I thought Ms. Harrison tackled a sensitive issue with the right emotions. Bailey did struggle yet she had a positive outlook and I felt like i was experiencing all the lows and highs with her.

Drew was a bit harder for me to connect to, but I loved his character. He definitely has a hero complex and I’m not at all surprised he was attracted to Bailey both physically and bc of her background. Unfortunately, they don’t learn from their past and part of their journey together is painful until they get their HEA.

I loved the ending so much! I’m totally looking forward to more books and I really hope Carter gets a book. He is my favorite side character. Also, can’t wait to read Harper’s book too.

Congratulations, Ms. Harrison, on a wonderful book!

What an awesome story! I was #teamlukeandadley from the beginning. Adley is such a sweetheart and of course, Luke is the perfect example of a hot growly mate. I loved how they got together so easily, but enter Heather and I got a bit nervous. I shouldn’t have worried because the author brought everything around full circle.

There’s so much to love in this book. An awesome storyline, characters you want to know, hot hot hot passion, and one of my favorite things, the forgiveness Adley showed Heather, as well as Heather’s realization of what she had been doing, was wrong.

Oh, and before I forget. The crossover fit into Luke and Adley’s story just right.

I give Her Mate 5 stars and I’m already looking forward to the next Fiona Davenport story!

SYNOPSIS

What happens when you mix an average American woman with a decidedly not average future King?

I can tell you from experience—a whole lot of complications.

You see, four months ago, my all-American sister, Kelsey, found out that she’s not actually my sister—she’s a princess of a country we’d never heard of. She begged me to come along when she was whisked off to her new palace, so here I am. An outsider who doesn’t fit in anywhere.

Now that she’s settled, I should go back to my exciting new career in New York. I absolutely should not stay in a country where I got shot (long story), where I suck so badly at the national sport that I accidentally murdered the symbol of the monarchy in front of half the country, and—oh yeah—where I can’t stop ogling Kelsey’s actual brother.

The Crown Prince.
The man who has to marry a very important princess. (not me)
The man who must create the next heir to the throne. (without me)
The man I absolutely can never be with. (remember that long story?)
The man who just gave me the best sex of my life…

Did I mention that it’s complicated?

REVIEW

Rating: 4 stars

Tempting the Prince is the third and final book in the Misadventures of Royals series. It follows Prince Christian, heir to the throne of Moncriano and Mallory Wishner, lady-in-waiting to Princess Kelsey, who until just recently she thought was her sister by blood. This is a fun story of a royal and a commoner getting their HEA, something I love to read about.

Ms. Barth did a great job with making her characters complex and keeping the storyline moving. Also, the dialogue between Christian and Mallory is witty. In addition, they have great chemistry with each other, both romantically and as friends.

I wish I had read the previous two books, something I will probably go back and do, but it’s not required in order to read Christian and Mallory’s story. I give Tempting the Prince 4 stars and recommend it to those who love to read about a royal falling for the girl next door.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TATE is one of my favorite Lighthouse Keepers. I have been waiting on his story and it was well worth the wait. I love his character. He’s a sweetheart and Nora is definitely his equal. They grew up together, fell in love, and just when it seemed like they were leading a charmed existence, tragedy struck, tearing them apart. I don’t want to get too much into the story and spoil it, but I will say I understood Tate’s decision although I didn’t agree with it at all. If you’re a believer in fate, maybe you’ll agree the time wasn’t right for them and they needed to live their own lives to appreciate each other once they got back together. ‘What I do know is when he realized his mistake, although many years later, he did everything in his power to fix it. My favorite part about his character is he didn’t demand they get back together. He puts Nora in the driver seat and it’s up to her to decide if they’re going to be together and if so, at what capacity?

Ms. Jordan is at the top of her game with Tate and Nora’s story. You’re drawn in from the beginning and the decisions, pain, angst, etc are palpable, making you feel as if you’re experiencing them in real-time. The author just keeps getting better and better with creating complex characters. Even the side characters are filled with nuances, making me want their stories as well.

I give TATE 5 stars and highly recommend it to those who love a great romance and if you’re a fan of second chance romance, this is definitely a story you want to check out. As always, I’m looking forward to more of Maryann Jordan stories, especially those of the Lighthouse Keepers.

As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I “cut my romance teeth” on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma’s Home was created.

My first novel, Emma’s Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love’s Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.

Review-The Sheriff’s Plus One (The Kincaids) by Marquita Valentine

5 star review!!

I really enjoyed reading Marquita Valentine’s newest book. She is one of my go to authors and as usual, she didn’t disappoint.

Archer and Molly were made for each other, a fact everyone could clearly see except for them. I loved taking the journey from friends to lovers with them. Ms. Valentine did a great job showing how their feelings turned deeper even though I’m convinced they were already there. It was such a natural progression.

As usual, the author created a small town setting I wanted to move to, including a visit to The Yarn Shop, lol. Ms. Valentine excels in bringing the reader into the story, something I adore.

I give The Sheriff’s Plus One 5 stars and highly recommend it. One-click your copy now.

Knox (Merrick Brothers, #1) by Prescott Lane

From USA Today bestselling author Prescott Lane comes a standalone second-chance romance between a Hollywood heartthrob and the small-town girl he left behind…

Knox by Prescott Lane is now live!

Sexiest man alive, scene stealer, Hollywood headliner.

That’s what the world calls him. I’ve got more colorful names for him, all of which would be bleeped out if I was on air doing my radio show. Even if he hadn’t broken my heart, he would just be Knox to me. Not a famous movie star.

Just a boy.

The boy who grew to be my first love.

That is, until he ripped my heart out of my chest and stepped on it, live on the red carpet.

I thought that was all behind me. Until he decided to come waltzing back into my life. Granted, he looked hot as heck doing it, but that’s neither here nor there.

He may have acted alongside some of Hollywood’s hottest “it” girls, but being my leading man is a much harder part to win.

***Review***

Rating: 5+ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Knox is a sexy swoony second chance romance between Knox Merrick, now a Hollywood heartthrob, and Mae Sheridan, his college girlfriend. These two are a classic case of “the one who got away.”

Can I just say there’s nothing I don’t love about their story? Ms. Lane does a superb job of bringing Knox and Mae back together. There is no question the love they have for each other never went away. Maybe fate wasn’t ready for them to be together back in college, I’m not sure.

What I do know is Prescott Lane has written a  beautiful love story. Her characters are complex individuals and she made me apart of their journey rather than just an onlooker.

I give Knox 5+ stars and highly recommend it to everyone. Congratulations to this amazing author. Looking forward to Ryder’s story.

Lethal Edge (Rifle Creek Series, Book 1) by Kaylea Cross

From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Kaylea Cross, comes the new Rifle Creek Series…

***Live Today***

#TBR https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/51057244-lethal-edge

A diehard romantic looking to start over in a small town.

Dr. Nina Gomez might be an astrophysicist and a scientist down to her bones, but she also believes in true love and happily ever after—and won’t settle for anything less. After a rocky end to her first semester teaching at the University of Montana, she’s looking forward to a new school year and a fresh start in the small town of Rifle Creek. When she meets her roommate’s work partner, a sexy, hard-edged detective, Nina is immediately intrigued. However, it’s soon clear they’re like oil and water. But when she’s confronted by the painful past event she wanted to forget, she faces an even greater danger. A predator is bent on silencing her forever, and Nina’s only hope of survival is the unattainable man who’s captured her heart.

A cynical cop determined to guard his heart.

Tate Baldwin has dedicated his life to serving and protecting, first in the military, and now as a detective in Rifle Creek. Badly burned by his last relationship, he isn’t looking to get involved with anyone, especially a brilliant college professor who seems to have her head in the clouds. Yet even Tate can’t deny the attraction between them that soon grows into something more. And when a secret from her past triggers a lethal threat, Tate will risk everything to stand between her and the monster who wants her dead.

Nina stopped where the sidewalk intersected with another path and turned Tate to face the building at the end of it.
“What is it?” he asked.
“A planetarium.”
He looked down at her, laughter in his eyes. “You brought me here for our date? Seriously?”
“Yes. Now come on. You’ll love it, promise.”
Inside she got them tickets with her faculty pass and they went to the theater to watch a show about the wonders of the universe, followed by a presentation on star formation by a fellow faculty member. Seeing the film on the dome screen above still gave Nina a thrill.
The talk afterward was engaging and interesting, with good audience participation. She glanced at Tate a few times to gauge his reaction, and to her delight he seemed at least intrigued by it all.
Nina leaned closer to Tate as the speaker wrapped up, breathing in his scent as she whispered in his ear. She was looking forward to being alone with him after this. “You can wait and ask me questions later if you’re shy.”
He turned his head to look at her, only inches separating them. His gaze dropped to her lips before returning to her eyes. “I’m not shy when it comes to getting something I want.”
